Looks like Lady Gaga will be performing at the 2023 Oscars after all.
The singer is set to sing her hit song “Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick” during Sunday’s annual awards show at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, multiple outlets report.
The news comes after Oscars executive producer and showrunner Glenn Weiss previously said in a press conference earlier this month that Gaga, 36, would not be performing during the awards ceremony.
“We invited all five nominees. We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now,” Weiss said at the time, referencing “Joker: Folie à Deux,” a sequel to 2019’s “Joker.”
“Here, we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie after a bunch of back and forth,” he added. “It didn’t feel like she can get a performance to the caliber that we’re used to with her and that she is used to. So, she is not going to perform on the show.”
As previously reported, production for “Joker: Folie à Deux” began at the end of 2022.
More award-worthy Oscars coverage:
Gaga, who portrays Harley Quinn in the film, was spotted on the set Saturday, just one day ahead of the Oscars. Other stars from the cast include Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and Harry Lawtey.
Back in January, Gaga took to Instagram to thank the Academy for her latest nomination. “Hold My Hand” is up for Best Original Song against “Applause” from “Tell It Like a Woman,” “Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “Naatu Naatu” from “RRR,” and “This Is a Life” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”
“Thank you so much to the Academy for nominating my song ‘Hold My Hand’ for an Oscar this year! Writing this song for the film ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ was a deep and powerful experience that I will never forget,” she wrote at the time.
“So grateful for the magic of music and cinema. Love you my co-writer @bloodpop I’m on set filming now big love to little monsters! 🃏.”
The 95th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, kick off Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on ABC.
