Mindy Kaling hit the 2023 Oscars red carpet Sunday in a gorgeous white Vera Wang gown with a corseted, sheer-paneled bodice that made the most of her svelte physique.
The slim-cut style included a delicate peplum at the waist and detached sleeves that elongated the actress’ arms.
Kaling, who has reportedly lost more than 40 pounds over the past few years, wore her hair in a sleek half-up, half-down ‘do and embraced the glitz and glamour of the evening with a maroon lip and smokey eye.
Styled by Molly Dickson, the “Mindy Project” creator paired her custom gown with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes to present at the 95th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
Dickson told E! the dress was originally designed in black and white.
Kaling wanted to wear the black gown, but ended choosing white because Wang is so famous for her bridal creations.
Kaling and Dickson did a “sit test” and the “Never Have I Ever” creator stood back up with no crease.
The peplum and boning was originally done in nude, but Kaling, 43, requested it in white instead.

“Vera loves these kind of unconventional sleeves with a lot of her bridal dresses, which I think makes it very modern,” designer Christian Siriano said on “Live From E!”
On Instagram, fans were blown away by the star’s weight loss, with one person evem commenting, “sis, put down the ozempic.”
However, Kaling has been open about her slim-down.
“I eat what I like to eat. If I do any kind of restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I just eat less of it,” Kaling told “Entertainment Tonight” in April 2022.
“I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I’ve lost a little bit of weight, but that’s the way I’ve done it,” the “Office” actress continued at the time.
The actress originally decided to lose weight after welcoming her second child in September 2020.
