Priyanka Chopra ‘cried’ because she is not ‘sample size’

Priyanka Chopra became emotional after someone recently body-shamed her.

“Someone told me yesterday that I wasn’t sample-sized,” the 40-year-old actress revealed at a South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival event on Friday, per People.

“I was hurt and I discussed it with my family and I cried to my husband [Nick Jonas], and my team, and I felt really bad about the fact that I’m not sample size, and that’s a problem.”

Chopra shared that a size 2 is considered a sample size in Hollywood.

The mother of one noted, however, that this is not the first time that she’s been told something “difficult to hear” throughout her career.

“In my job, the pressure is so intense you can’t really show the chinks in your armor,” the “Baywatch” star explained during a conversation with Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke.

She then added that people have been saying the “meanest and nastiest things” about her and her family, including her and Jonas’ 1-year-old baby girl, Malti.

“I think sometimes people forget you are even human,” Chopra continued. “And those pressures — it’s inexplicable.

“I can’t explain how it feels when you are sitting down on your couch and you just feel the world coming at you because people have forgotten that you are human.”

Despite the negativity, the “Citadel” actress says she keeps herself surrounded by people who love and care about her and are not focused on what she brings to the table or what she can do for them.

“It doesn’t have to be a room full of people — I can count them on my hands,” she added.

Chopra, who won Miss World in 2000, was previously vocal about defying societal beauty standards.

In her 2021 memoir, “Unfinished,” the new mom revealed that she was once told to get more plastic surgery to “fix” her “proportions” after a botched nose surgery she got as a teenager left her feeling “devastated and hopeless.”

“Now when I look in the mirror, I am no longer surprised; I’ve made peace with this slightly different me,” she wrote. “I’m just like everyone else: I look at myself in the mirror and think maybe I can lose a little weight; I think maybe I can work out a little more.

“But I’m also content. This is my face. This is my body. I might be flawed, but I am me.”

Chopra wed Jonas, 30, in 2018 in an extravagant three-day affair in India.

In January, the “Quantico” alum and Jonas Brothers member announced on social media that they secretly welcomed Malti via surrogate.
