‘Saving Private Ryan’ actor Tom Sizemore dead at 61 after brain aneurysm

Tom Sizemore died Friday after suffering a brain aneurysm. He was 61.

The actor’s family made the tough decision to remove him from life support, his rep, Charles Lago, told Page Six.

Lago further told us, “It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (“Tom Sizemore”) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank.”

His brother, Paul, and his 17-year-old twin sons, Jayden and Jagger, “were at his side.”

The “Saving Private Ryan” star had been hospitalized in critical condition since being found unconscious in his Los Angeles home at around 2 a.m. on Feb. 18.

The following day, Lago confirmed to Page Six that the actor was “in intensive care” and fighting for his life.

“It’s a wait and see situation,” Lago said at the time. “His family is aware and waiting for medical updates.”

Less than two weeks later, doctors shared heartbreaking news with Sizemore’s loved ones, saying there was “no hope” he would recover.

“Tom has remained in critical condition, in a coma, in intensive care,” Lago told Page Six on Feb. 27. “Today, doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end-of-life decision.”

The movie star, also known for his roles in “Twin Peaks,” “Heat” and “True Romance,” spent most of his time in the public eye battling drug abuse, even appearing on “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” in 2010.

Sizemore spoke candidly about his struggles in a 2017 interview, telling the Daily Mail he had been “forced to squat for two years” in a building with “no electricity or running water.”

“My life’s gotten a lot better, it’s been a real chronicle, but I’ve got a long history of substance abuse. I was in a really bad place,” he said at the time.

“I wasn’t homeless, but I had to fast sell my $7 million house. This is how f–ked up I was. I could have bought something else, like a condo or something, but I wanted a house again,” the movie star continued.

“So I was driving around in my car for a couple of weeks. I mean, I was on drugs, I was thinking, ‘I’m gonna get the money to buy a $5 million home,’ and I’m asking certain people for money.”

In fact, Sizemore even asked his pal Jack Nicholson for a loan.

“I said, ‘Can you loan me $10 million?’ and he said, ‘In a word, no,’” the Detroit native recalled.

Sizemore also had several run-ins with the law following a string of domestic violence and drug charges.

One of his most high-profile convictions came in 2003 when he was found guilty of abusing then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss. He was sentenced to six months behind bars.

He was also in the headlines when a Utah woman claimed he groped her during a photo shoot when she was 11.

Her 2018 lawsuit said the alleged incident took place during the production of the 2003 movie “Born Killers” and left her with post-traumatic stress as well as drug and alcohol addiction.

Sizemore denied the “highly disturbing” allegations, saying he would never inappropriately touch a child. A judge dismissed the lawsuit in 2020.

Additionally, Sizemore was arrested in 2019 and 2020 for driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.

He is survived by his two sons, Jagger and Jayden, whom he shared with former girlfriend Janelle McIntire.
